There are a number of volunteer opportunities in support of the Code of Support Foundation and its many programs. These involve a variety of roles depending on the particular interests and experience of the volunteers. Some of these are briefly described below:
Volunteer Opportunities
Give-Back-24 Challenge Event Organizers (Now through June 10, 2012)
We just announced the “Flag Day Give-Back-24 Challenge,” a nationwide series of events designed to raise funds for the treatment of mental health issues including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) which seriously affect thousands of troops, military families and veterans. Full details can be found at www.giveback24.org, or see the Programs drop down menu at the top of the home page.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to organize GB-24 events around the country which will generate pledges in support of our five beneficiary organizations! More information at www.giveback24.org.
Code of Support Signature Campaign Opportunities (Continuing)
- Local Event Organizers are needed to work with the foundation to plan and organize Code of Support events literally anywhere in the U.S.! The primary objectives of these events are to create local area awareness about the needs of our troops and their families and provide an opportunity for individuals to sign and dedicate their Code of Support pledge (on-line or on paper). The foundation will provide kits of materials for Signature/Pledge Tables, including a table banner, brochures, and posters to promote your event locally.

Bloggers
- There are a host of existing blogs that discuss subjects relevant to the COS campaign. We seek a Blog Coordinator who can catalog the best blogs in related areas, ensure that those blogs become familiar with the COS campaign, and, where possible, enlist their cooperation in getting the word out to their readers about our campaign. We ar also interested in using RSS feeds from the best of these blogs to provide a blog on the COS web site that incorporates the “best of the best” content (with full attribution to the sources). A catalog of the existing landscape will help determine the potential for a new blog with original material if there is a niche to be filled.
App Developers
- For both the overall campaign and for many of our programs, we have identified requirements for apps for mobile devices and laptops that will track the progress, facilitate signing up new pledges for the Code of Support, and facilitate collecting donations (to be matched) for the participating organizations that provide direct support to the troops, veterans and their families.
Project Managers and Office Assistants:
- With the increasing level of activity in our various programs, there’s a lot of work that needs to be done. Each of our programs is many-faceted and requires a lot of planning and coordination in the execution. Interns or part-time volunteers can gain valuable resume-building experience in these challenging assignments.
- As the foundation grows, there is a lot of back office work to be done that we can use help with. This is a great opportunity to dust off unused skills and experience and put it to work for a good cause!
Other Roles?
- We’re open to other ideas. Tell us what you would like to do.
